There is a *lot* more to say about this, and I will do so in time. I've been letting the dust settle. The takeaway - your smartphone and laptop are not trustworthy, and neither is a room of students. The problems are *fundamental*. What do we do about this? What do we recommend?

A good start would be not supporting people engaging in harassment and persistent raids/attacks on an open source project (GrapheneOS) truly working on fundamentally improving privacy and security. The ongoing long-term attempts at sabotage and driving people away hold it back.

Adoption primarily depends on improving usability without sacrificing privacy and security through projects like the web installer, sandboxed Play services compatibility layer and first party app repository / client. Beyond that, the resources needed to make custom hardware.

The main thing holding back all of that and developing a hundred more privacy/security improvements are the ongoing attacks on the project including from 2 of the groups you mentioned. Particularly, the one that's simply a clout chasing YouTube influencer organizing raids on us.

Multiple developers have had to step back from working on the project due to ongoing harassment and threats made against them in real life. The biggest obstacles have always been scammers/charlatans within the privacy/security industry spreading misinformation and causing harm.

Where would GrapheneOS be without the failed corporate takeover attempt, the following years of that company causing harm to us and the past year of 2 of the communities you list above organizing persistent raids and harassment directed towards us? Definitely much further along.
