For serious tho fuck bed frames. Oh yeah I'm gonna pay extra money for something that exists just to accidentally hit my head on it. I want to move my bed half an inch away from the wall, just wide enough to drop things but not wide enough to reach my hand in to retrieve it. Sure

Back in college I used to just have my box-spring and mattress on the floor. Apart from no longer feeling like an idiot, I haven't seen an actual benefit to adding the bed frame into the equation.

Nice having it elevated for a human scale bedside table and because not as much dust, hair, etc. ends up on things that are higher in the air. It's a source of extreme guilt with an older dog used to sleeping at the end of the bed but unable to easily jump that high anymore.

I handled that extreme guilt by moving the frame and box spring to the attic for the last year of my old dog's life. He could easily step onto the mattress and the floor became an enormous bedside table for me.
