Seems like this must just be an incredibly weird mistake. It doesn't actually let you fully register nicks because it doesn't appear to send confirmation emails. Doesn't let you register a channel since you can't confirm the nick.

So fucking weird. RIP topic and entrymsg for directing people to Matrix. I'm guessing that's the point and they did it to clear out ownership of channels by everyone who moved away. Random idlers with unreliable connections now have +o everywhere. Very good IRC server.

Neat how /ctcp #channel VERSION actually works now to help with mass exploitation of people with out-of-date IRC clients. This new software is reminds me of Rizon 15 years ago. So much more legacy cruft, bloat and weird quirky things. I'm guessing that's why rasengan wanted it.
