If you want a perfect example "Tech Debt" - IPv6 deployment would be it. Turning on IPv6 on network devices is easy. Enabling it in your applications is hard. Also when you have certain companies refusing to support features for "reasons" (see also - Android and DHCPv6)...

DHCPv6 is a solution in search of a problem. IPv6 has SLAAC in the base protocol.

This is true. Though in this case DHCPv6 is already a part of the IPv6 standard. For most consumers, SLAAC's is fine. It's what I use with my HE.net tunnel...

It's part of IPv6 but as an optional feature. I don't think it can really be expected that everyone will support it. I'm glad that Android doesn't support it.
By refusing to add it, they prevent organizations from treating it as universally supported and forcing it on everyone.
