Got freenode to revert shutting down our channels. They still have their own phony versions of our channels.
We're not allowed to directly tell the remaining users we moved away from freenode or they'll shut them down and attempt to redirect them to their phony channels again.

Our new topic + entrymsg says this instead:
> The old Matrix rooms have been replaced with the new #grapheneos:grapheneos.org and #offtopic:grapheneos.org Matrix rooms and aren't bridged to freenode anymore.
Entirely compliant with their new policies AFAICT.

It's sad seeing these channels which had ~1200 and ~600 users at their peak are now down to 64 and 14 remaining users due to freenode self-destructing.
New Matrix rooms are already up to 795 and 490 users with another 39 and 20 on libera with an uninvasive bridge. Going well.

I initially added freenode alongside Matrix, Telegram, libera and OFTC to our matterbridge setup after we moved to proper new Matrix rooms.
The reason freenode isn't bridged is because they banned the bridge bot for saying libera repeatedly due to the [platform] <user> prefix.

They IP banned the matrix.grapheneos.org server and at this point I have little interest in freenode. It would probably help people migrate because they could see that the channels didn't die but rather moved elsewhere. Our users would also tell them to move rather than us.
