I'm on the fence about the freenode -> libera chat migration. For one, I don't get the blind trust of the former staff, based on my personal experience of them ignoring multiple email reports of harassment and threats I received in the past, the user involved retaining cloaked.

I don't want to be stuck with any particular server again which is part of why we're finally going all in on Matrix.
People use the home server of their choice and the room isn't tied to any particular home server, other than administrators / moderators using specific ones.
Administrators / moderators can switch to different home servers without any disruption. I would prefer if we can avoid needing to make a bridge to new channels at libera.chat or OFTC. Bridging is also really not a good experience. It's a lossy translation to IRC.
