Unlike a traditional distribution it compatibility with a large # of mobile apps including things like Signal and WhatsApp along with a strong application security model, modern exploit mitigations, verified boot, etc.

Every app is sandboxed. Users are in control of the data entered into apps and access granted via permissions, the system file manager, etc.
Profiles can also be used as isolated workspaces, particularly for apps refusing to run without a data access permission being granted.
Simply explaining how the baseline AOSP permission model works to them. I'm not sure why you got the impression that had something to do with GrapheneOS.
