I made the same argument as twitter.com/konklone/statu which is also being referred to there. We weren't shifting blame to someone else but rather questioning assuming good faith from one co-author while assuming bad faith from Salter.

My tweet was the 2nd in this thread: twitter.com/DanielMicay/st Extended Random by itself is not a backdoor. Rather, it's suspected of being an aid to a backdoor. I don't agree with a public call out of people involved without evidence they intended to do anything malicious.

twitter.com/matthew_d_gree This doesn't sit right with me. I don't find @matthew_d_green's gut feeling that this person was part of a government scheme to backdoor cryptography to be a valid reason to send a mob after them 12 years later. They aren't even the main author of this.

I don't agree Salter working for the NSA means that we should assume that she was in on it while assuming good faith from the other co-author. My argument certainly wasn't that we should treat both as acting in bad faith... but rather not blaming either without actual evidence.
