In the odd chance it's helpful, I enjoyed this game and also enjoyed: braid, limbo, inside, fez, super meat boy, stealth bastard deluxe, mark of the ninja, portal 2, etc...
Sorry if this is unwanted noise.
oh i've played a lot of the names from this list. braid, fez, and portal 2 i think i completed, limbo was too hard, smb even more so, i might check out the rest, thanks!
I'm not sure about your taste in games, but Starsector is amazing. Space exploration / smuggling / combat. A bit like Mount & Blade in space in the sense that you build a fleet, pilot one ship in combat (can switch) and issue orders.

It's a very mature / stable game despite not being 1.0. Has been in development since 2011. It mostly just doesn't have nearly enough end-game content without mods. It has one of the best mod communities though. Lots of very high quality mods that are designed for use together.
I don't enjoy many games anymore. I have overly high standards for them now and get bored too easily.
The only other game I've enjoyed recently is Crusader Kings 2. When CK3 was announced, I bought the insane amount of DLC I was missing and got a lot of time out of it.
bought it, I seem to hit the same kind of problem I do with other similar games: the learning curve is *steep*, I don't even know what I'm doing wrong because the game won't tell me, and if I have to put in the effort to learn it all on my own I'd rather pick up a textbook or sth
like I explored a few systems, recovered from almost running out of fuel a few times, I don't really have any feedback on what I should do next and I can't play without that
