The Pixel 5 will call the cops if it thinks you're in an accident. Automatically calling the cops is a strange feature to add during these times.

It sounds like it was also added to the Pixel 4 by default, but the Pixel 5 will be the first device including it from the beginning.
play.google.com/store/apps/det is what implements it. More info at support.google.com/pixelphone/ans. Curious if it's enabled by default or requires opt-in.
It doesn't seem like the kind of feature that will remain Pixel exclusive for very long. I could see it requiring them to certify a device as having reliable enough sensors, etc. to be compatible with it though. Probably why they're starting with only Pixel devices.

My 6 year old Ford has done that from the beginning. Not that I care for it.. but I understand the reason for it.
