My new bluetooth mouse is somewhat more usable now that I figured out how to nuke Linux's autosuspend default for bt devices (wtf kinda default is that?!)

Now all that's left is the 200ms latency in the mouse's own sleep after 3s of inactivity. Do all bt mice do this? How hard is it going to be to fix the firmware not to do it?

Also confirmed that exiting mouse's own deep sleep after 10 min actually works right (~1s latency) as long as the host controller wasn't allowed to sleep (best case ~10s latency, sometimes fails to reconnect at all).

I never have issues on the Windows machine, but sometimes Linux will refuse to detect the added USB devices. I have to SSH into the machine and reboot it. At first, I thought it was locking up. I know it's not a hardware issue because I've swapped around the OSes before.

My Linux install was moved over from a Thinkpad T530 to a workstation and then my current workstation. I still had power optimizations for the laptop and audio autosuspend was breaking my audio. USB C 3.1 was also causing kernel panics until about Linux 5.4. Not a lot of fun.

I've had a way better experience with Linux support for laptops than desktops, probably because I always make sure to get a well supported laptop and I can't really do the same for a workstation motherboard without buying overpriced Xeon hardware which is not going to happen.
