I've been finding myself less furious at Trump recently, and more at his party, because surely the USA contains at least a few hundred human beings as horrifically awful as him and surely the republican party would have found a different one if not him

He listens to a lot of people that are pretty incompetent. There are conflicting opinions in his circles about things like war with Iran. Ted Cruz presidency would have a lot less *overt* white supremacy but I'm fairly sure war with Iran would have happened and a lot more too.
