The original open source is GrapheneOS grapheneos.org. CopperheadOS is a proprietary fork of the legacy codebase. They're fraudulently passing off the work as their own and falsely claiming ownership of it. GrapheneOS is not a commercial product and is entirely free.
So no, you don't have to pay for the real thing (GrapheneOS). I can't understand why people choose to use a proprietary fork of my work by a scammer who is causing substantial harm to open source privacy/security work. If people pay for it they're funding his malicious war on us.
