I'd rather just make a separate wallet for this if it's going to need a seed / passphrase and then regularly transfer over the money to the same hardware wallet. It's one more thing I need to worry about and deal with though. I also think typical Trezor frontends won't handle it.

If addresses are being generated for that seed/passphrase dynamically, it's going to end up leaving gaps larger than what the typical wallets use to find all the funds. That was one of the main issues I saw with using BTCPay other than concern about compromises and maintenance.

No, It won’t.
PayNyms use stealth address tech. They’re not generating addresses way down the derivation path like BTCPayServer.

Makes sense but then I don't see how I can use it with Trezor. I'd need to do this separately with Samourai on a dedicated phone.

I'm super exhausted, stressed out and burned out dealing with James and Copperhead for years. I'm going to end up with a bunch of legal fees to cover with donations but aside from that it's hard to make use of it right now. I have my hands full dealing with this conflict.

I'm sorry we got in a fight about these things but it was genuinely very upsetting for me. Feels bad seeing people who I thought supported me doing something I see as completely incompatible with that. I can't deal with more than the legal issues and development work right now.

Take a break from the keyboard or at least twitter for now.
When you’re ready to set up a wallet on GrapheneOS, there’s a bunch of folk here ready to assist with any questions etc you have on managing funds etc and preserving the privacy of your donors.
All the best.

I'm not really going to feel any better after a break. The issues bothering me are still there. I'm procrastinating moving forward with the legal battle and issues like following up with the CRA on the tax side of the conflict. My life got completely fucked up by what happened.

My life consists of slowly reviving/repairing the damage that was done to my project on the technical side and in terms of community, etc. along with fighting this legal / tax battle. It takes all my time and energy. I need a lot of help but it's hard for me to put money to use.
Going to end up burning through tons of the donations for legal fees and perhaps I'll end up needing a lot more money. It's already a huge expense and it's just getting started. Planning to do a crowdfunding campaign specifically for that. The whole thing just makes me upset.

Damage that's already done is immense and now 95% of donations for the foreseeable future will probably be eaten up by legal fees. Maybe I can get a substantial portion of that money back after winning but that's not really how our court system is set up to work by default.
