As far as I know, GrapheneOS is a fork of Copperhead and broadly understood as its successor.

GrapheneOS is not a fork. It is the original open source project, continued since 2014, a year before Copperhead was founded. See grapheneos.org/#history for an overview of the history. Everything there can be confirmed, either via public info or multiple trustworthy people.

You can see that the project was renamed to GrapheneOS on GitHub from the network graph: github.com/GrapheneOS/pla. The new CopperheadOS organization and repositories on GitHub were created in mid-2018 based on forking the legacy branch of our work. That's not the original project.
