Periodic reminder that CopperheadOS is no longer a product just constant legal trolling/harassment against the original developer. GrapheneOS is the continuation of the actual product.

Copperhead has continued escalating their malicious attacks on GrapheneOS. Copperhead breaking the terms of the sponsorship agreement, attempting to take over the project through coercion and then trying to fraudulently rewrite history was not the end. renlord.com/posts/2020-03-

They're also harassing contributors to the project and supporters. They tried to get Renlord in trouble with his university via fraudulent claims of copyright infringement. They falsely claim ownership over my work and claim

There is nothing that gives them ownership over my past work. I never assigned any copyright to them and was never working under any employment agreement or contract with them. Not only that, but it was very explicitly agreed upon that Copperhead was sponsoring my project.

From the beginning, I made sure it was clear that my OS work was my open source project and would not be owned or controlled by the company. The company was supposed to earn money from contract work and support, including maintaining proprietary forks of the OS for companies.

They respected that until the very end of my involvement. Even during the final conflict where they were making legal threats / ultimatums and trying to coerce me into handing over everything to them, they acknowledged the fact that I owned it. After pushing me out, that changed.
