Stripe isn't sending my money because they don't seem to be able to handle Canadians with a USD bank account. Despite that, they provide it as an option, and the error claims the completely correct information is wrong. They didn't even make a 2nd attempt to send the transfer...

Tired of dealing with financial services companies. It's no longer believable that these common errors are a mistake rather than business strategy. They're the ones forcing me to receive money via wire transfers and yet they apparently don't know how to send one internationally.

I'm sure it's the usual problem where they see USD and try to send only the information needed for domestic wire transfers, resulting in the bank rejecting it due to regulations requiring more info. I used to have this issue all the time with PayPal and they never admitted fault.

Remains to be seen how they're actually going to transfer the money too. The previous way of receiving these transfers without Stripe hit me with international wire transfer fees which was 10% of the amount being sent. It's more than a bit ridiculous. It's a complete joke really.

Ditto: get paid in #bitcoin and cash out in $CAD immediately = international remittance solved. There are service providers that will handle this for you in an automated fashion and their fees are likely less than international wire transfers.

It doesn't cover everything since most companies / people are unwilling to pay or donate with Bitcoin, so I still end up dealing with this on a smaller scale. Bitcoin helps, but adoption isn't nearly good enough for me to be free of dealing with companies like PayPal, Stripe, etc

I was thinking you open US #BTC exchange account & a Canadian one. Buy BTC in US w/ $USD from Stripe or PayPal, sell BTC for #CAD at same time at home so there is not a lot of price slippage. Then transfer BTC to balance it out next repatriation. You will have to hold BTC on both
