hi! current GrapheneOS beta performs quite poorly on my Pixel 3 device battery wise. 100% to 65% battery drop in 1.5 hour doing only reading in the browser. Do you think this is due to the beta state of software or the lack of Play services?

Neither. It's not the experience other people are having with it, so it's most likely to the apps that you've installed, battery optimization exceptions you've granted and other local configuration / setup on your device. Do a factory reset and try it without third party apps.
