There will be another GrapheneOS release to wrap up support for Android Pie by the end of the weekend, so any changes to help with preparing for Android Q need to be landed now. There may or may not be one more final Pie-based release for the September security update, we'll see.

Not going to be accepting any further changes to the Pie branch after the weekend. Pie support also won't be continued as a maintenance branch. That's not needed anymore due to Treble, which is good since otherwise devices would just be dropped due to lack of resources for that.

Many past GrapheneOS privacy and security features that weren't ported to Pie are part of the baseline in Q. Skipping those and focusing on work that would not become redundant has been very deliberate. Q will be the true revival of the project. Hoping the community steps up too.
