It does work via the official Trezor wallet with a Chromium-based browser on Android. Someone also did develop an initial Bitcoin wallet app for Trezor, which works:
github.com/MattSkala/trez
If there's interest, it could serve as a starting point for further development work.

Then don't. There are plenty of mobile solutions that work with Trezor (or other hww's), but if it's too much trouble for you, no sweat off anyone's backs 🤷♂️

Or Apple could add WebUSB support to Safari rather than Trezor writing an app specific to their platform to work around a missing feature. They make 1 portable app. If Apple permitted alternate browser engines, you could use the official Trezor wallet in Chrome, but they don't.
Alternatively, do what Matouš Skála did with github.com/MattSkala/trez for Android and write your own native app for iOS. Trezor is open source and that's generally the way this works. Wallets add support for Trezor, rather than Trezor making a bunch of wallets / apps.

So act accordingly and write a native app for iOS using Trezor, or add support to an existing open source wallet for iOS (assuming that one exists, there's not much of an open source culture for that platform). There are a whole bunch of wallets supporting Trezor already.
