It does work via the official Trezor wallet with a Chromium-based browser on Android. Someone also did develop an initial Bitcoin wallet app for Trezor, which works:

If there's interest, it could serve as a starting point for further development work.

As I said, the first party wallet works on Android, just as it does on the desktop. It works in any Chromium-based browser including Chrome. They don't have an official native desktop app so it's not like it's a worse experience on mobile. It's the same official web app for both.

The official wallet uses WebUSB which is what makes it portable. It works on Android because Chromium-based browsers support WebUSB. Once Safari on iOS supports WebUSB, it will work. See caniuse.com/#feat=webusb. I don't know if there's an alternative wallet supporting it on iOS.
