Accidentally upgraded the wrong VPS. I realized before the order went through but there was no way to cancel... and now there's no way to downgrade it again, only upgrade it further. I guess I need to order another VPS from scratch, migrate over to it and cancel this one. Nice.

I have never heard of anything like this before, why on earth wouldn't it be possible to delete the vps instance and create another one? You need to switch to another vps host

It's certainly possible to do that but I need to do a proper migration since it's being actively used. I'm just annoyed that their interface is this terrible and that there was no way to cancel the order while it was pending. It's a waste of my time and money to their benefit.

I immediately noticed the error and then it took 20 minutes to upgrade it. I upgraded the right one and filed a ticket at least 10 minutes before the upgrade actually went through. Barely any actual money will be wasted, maybe about $15, but I'm still pretty annoyed about it.

I easily could have pressed a button charging me $300 on the wrong server instead. There should probably be a way to cancel the order on the pending order page... and maybe their web UI should respect history so the back button doesn't send me to another server without realizing.
