We watched Game of Thrones but I was super disappointed in the video quality (choppy panning, framerate/interlacing mismatch?) from some piece or interaction between HBO, Chromecast Ultra (wired, gigabit upstream, no wifi involved, default "Video smoothness" on) & my LG OLED65C7P

Mostly I'm disappointed this isn't a solved problem. It should just look beautiful by default with me needing to tweak knobs or pirate the content and then tweak even more knobs.

The quality of pirated copies will also spike massively above even a working HBO streaming setup once it's released on Blu-ray. It's sad. I think they prefer streaming to be far from Blu-ray quality since it's an incentive for people to buy it even if they're paying to stream it.
At least they finally came up with a way to subscribe without a cable subscription in Canada. They need to realize that they should be giving their customers more convenience and quality than a pirated copy. They might as well let you download it since you could just pirate it...
