This sums up my experience with the open source community nicely: reddit.com/r/linux/commen False and dishonest claims from someone that hasn't even done some basic reading, let alone actual research. The community elevates / worships ignorance and doesn't care about substance.

Claims are evaluated based on tone and confirmation bias. Bashing people or organizations people dislike and praising those they like always works well. Not much tolerance for facts, objective reality or rational thinking. Lots of entitlement and hatred towards developers too.

I wrote an in-depth response for anyone that happens to be showing up to the thread late: reddit.com/r/linux/commen. Worth reading. Unfortunately, spreading misinformation works much better than corrections posted much later. Lies without substance are way quicker to read through.
