So, to provide a general purpose: the claims he's making in this thread are outrageous and false. He makes complete fabrications like claiming he has somehow paid for 200k in damages when he had $0 in savings and lots of debt. The reality is the opposite. He is stealing money...

Copperhead's business is based on illegal use of my code. The code wasn't written as an employee for them or as a contractor. Copyright ownership was never handed over to them. In fact it was explicitly agreed that I owned all the copyright and controlled the open source project.

James has stolen substantial amounts of donations that were made to support my work, and has rejected the requests of the donors to pass the money along to where it was supposed to go or to return it. I can put you in touch with a dozen donors if you want to write about that.

In reality, James broke the arrangements with me and attempted to hijack the project to line his pockets by taking things in an unethical direction. He failed to coerce me into a new arrangement where he was in control, pushed me out and continued down the planned path anyway.

There are no damages to Copperhead. It wasn't their open source project and the arrangement for the project being independent from the business and not subject to being at the whims of business concerns was explicitly agreed upon. In reality James has a lifestyle funded by theft.

He has taken 100% of the profits from the company for himself despite the fact that I still have 50% ownership in addition to theft of the donations to the open source project. He lives a lifestyle of luxury beyond his means including renting a luxury condo in downtown Toronto.

A large part of the motivation behind his actions is continuing to fund his lifestyle at all costs, which means extremely short-term decision making and lots of unethical behavior. Copperhead does not do privacy/security work. It steals it and takes advantage of vulnerable users.

They sell an insecure product at a extremely high cost with obsolete and/or unmaintained privacy and security features not created by them. The product has critical known vulnerabilities dating all the way back to August 2018 since it hasn't been properly maintained at all.
