I'm almost through Compatibility Test Suite testing for Android 9 with the new hardened malloc implementation integrated (https://github.com/AndroidHardening/hardened_malloc…). There are a dozen or so latent memory corruption bugs that have been uncovered and need to be fixed. It's really not that bad now.

CTS is a very broad test suite. You can see that from the list of modules, many of which have thousands of tests and can take hours to run: https://gist.github.com/thestinger/946d75718fdb6c3b033f992fa638b496…. As a whole, CTS testing takes at least a day and there's also the VTS for kernel / userspace driver support, etc.
