There's still a lot left to do to finish the core security and performance features of the new allocator. Having it integrated into an OS with an expansive test suite and benchmarks is helpful. AOSP is well tested with ASan now which also helps a lot.

I finished porting the new 64-bit hardened malloc implementation to Android: github.com/AndroidHardeni.
Initial integration into Bionic is now available too: github.com/AndroidHardeni. I haven't added back all of the other Bionic hardening though, or any of the other OS hardening.
