OMG, does anyone have a suggested keyboard for Android? The default that comes with my 3XL is absolutely terrible.

I'm rather a fan of Swype, but it depends what you prefer and need it for. Hacker's keyboard is pretty good for shell work etc.

Yeah, not a fan of Swype. Don't like dragging my finger on the screen. I'll have to check it out. Now that I've enabled long press which was buried in prefs not easy to get to, it's better.

You'll probably appreciate the hidden feature of being able to drag your finger back and forth on the spacebar to move the cursor. It's a decent keyboard compared to the alternatives. They've improved it a lot since it was mostly open source, which was an unfortunate change...

Yeah, saw the spacebar trick the other day. Keep forgetting about it.

Can also swipe left on backspace to delete multiple words at a time. There are symbols available via long press on the period key including forward slash even without enabling that in the menu too. Can also press ?123 and drag towards the symbol to have it switch back after.
There are probably hidden features I don't know about even after using it for many years. Double tapping space to finish a sentence (it enters "." followed by " ") is one of the shortcuts that's old enough for it to be present in the AOSP keyboard.
Oh, that's nice. Too bad they don't put any type if info there to let users know about that.
