Please help get the word out about what has happened with Copperhead. They're tricking people into buying an insecure product misrepresented as hardened. It isn't even updated to Android 9 and lacks full security updates. Pixels don't receive full security updates via Android 8.

I've written a bit about it in this thread, but most of it is covered in past threads that I've published here. Copperhead attempted to hijack the projects that it was supposed to be supporting to corrupt them into being a tool to line the pockets of my former business partner.

I refused to turn over control and ownership of the projects to someone like him, which would have compromised the security and integrity of the work. He responded with more threats / ultimatums, pushing me out of the company and stealing the donations people sent to support me.

I'm doing the same kind of work I was before and all they're doing is illegitimately lining their pockets with my past work. They keep spreading lies about what happened, what's going on now and false attacks on me. They're desperate and it's easy to refute their nonsense claims.

You'll have to have a superior product available, and preferably licensed under GPL, because GPL code is free from the outset, and cannot be made unfree.

A superior product is already available: AOSP 9. GPL doesn't help one bit since companies can still simply take the GPL code and profit from it without doing any work themselves. There's no value in making derivatives use the same license when they don't do any valuable work...

The idea of GPL is, that they can't make the code they have taken, proprietary. btw, the Free Software Foundation just recently published comments, that the non-commercial Commons Clause makes software non-free.

I'll be licensing my code under permissive licenses once it's funded. I have no interest in copyleft. GPL would just interfere with working with other projects like AOSP, OpenBSD, HardenedBSD and LLVM. It serves no purpose for me. If you want to pick the license, write the code.
