I will not be surprised if the new Titan security chip is also used to improve safetynet checks for full device attestation to circumvent Magisk hide.

SafetyNet could enforce the verified boot state via key attestation on any devices launched with Android 8+ to prevent bypassing it without an actual exploit. It'd be possible to pretend that it's an earlier device since it would still need to support those though.

Not sure why they haven't started truly using key attestation in verified boot yet. It's not hard to use. Titan doesn't change much, since hardware support for remote attestation of verified boot state was added in the previous generation and Titan doesn't directly improve it.
