It's amusing that people think sqlite.org/codeofconduct. is intended as satire. Richard Hipp is a devout Christian and proselytizing is part of that. I think he's being entirely sincere. As an atheist, I think it's ridiculous but I can respect that he actually lives by his beliefs.

His beliefs include proselytizing to convert people and save them from eternal damnation. Passing up this opportunity to do it doesn't fit with those beliefs. He doesn't simply believe in this religion but rather it also provides the set of values which are used by his project.
Keeping his beliefs in his private life isn't compatible with them. He speaks about this regularly, mixed in with technical interviews / presentations. See the end of the interview in red-gate.com/simple-talk/op for a good example.

I understand what you are saying, &every word is true.
My point still stands, undiminished.
It is, simply put, wrong, in this context.
Worse, it belittles Christianity when he says you don't even have to follow the CoC. Why even bother?
