    I just watched the how to survive a plague documentary and the scene where people dump their loved ones’ ashes on the White House lawn had me bawling. Act up activism hits different in a pandemic. We need that fire and targeted rage again now.

    It’s notable that the overwhelmingly preventable death of 400k+ Americans hasn’t been more directly politicized, no one dumping their loved ones’ ashes over the White House fence. This pandemic is the most fundamentally social thing but its violence is also deeply individualized.
