After an extraordinary three-day evidentiary put on by @CampaignLegal on behalf of @LULAC the Texas SOS has failed to defend its bungled program. The court agreed w/ us, @ACLUTx, @TXCivilRights, and @MALDEF that the counties should not take further action until he rules.
It's been a wild week: We heard moving testimony from Julie Hilberg; Texas employees admitted they warned the SOS about the inaccuracy of the data; counties contradicted the SOS; and the judge likened the program to a sledgehammer. Go team!
