I can’t imagine how other females are feeling. I walk FIVE MINUTES outdoors and I’m still defensive, but Toronto is known for having a lot of commuters. My manager (female) commutes 1hr to get home.
why did we stop talking about the #TorontoAttack and its roots in gender-related terrorism (the incel terrorists) so quickly? I left work yesterday evening telling my bf that I want to get a knife to keep on me for a five minute walk to work.

I don’t know if the public (specifically women) feel safe after something like this, because I’m not 100% sure I do. I think more discussion of misogyny and gender terror are overdue.

To be clear, the incel group IS a terrorist group - they talk about rape, acid attacks, mass killings against a specific group of people. Because the specific group varies only by sex (usually cis hetero men aiming attacks at cis women), this IS gender terror... in OUR CITY.
