Wait, she's a "snake" for eviscerating Bloomberg?

Yup, exactly. That's why primaries are so chaotic! Warren may have thought she was advocating for the progressive cause. But in practice, she helped the moderates consolidate while the left stayed divided. Just like Chris Christie's murder-suicide on Marco Rubio.

Heh. The ol' murder-suicide-but also other murder.

I hadn't seen this tweet before I made the exact same analogy. :)

Yeah this theory doesn’t play out with Super Tuesday results. Votes were nearly binary between Sanders and Biden. Maybe look at stats regarding African American voters?
-
what do you mean "votes were nearly binary"? a crucial reason biden did so well was that bloomberg, who a week ago was neck and neck with biden in the polls, got eliminated as a credible alternative in the moderate lane. warren played a big role in that.

Warren eviscerated Bloomberg to help Warren. Any repercussions were a byproduct rather than intent. What hurt Warren was a) she had no clear lane even after that debate & b) she couldnt get a noticeable bump w/ such heavy early voting in Nevada and poor demographics for her in SC
-
I of course agree that Warren didn't intend to facilitate centrist consolidation around Bloomberg! But again, that's why primaries are so chaotic--it's very hard to predict ripple effects.
