Nearly all of the time an egg is an egg, and a milkshake is a milkshake. We, in the USSS, on President Bush, in the post 9/11 era didn't consider that stuff to be "political violence" in the absence of evidence of intent to cause actual harm.

We had eggs thrown. We had powder thrown. We had drinks thrown. I had a frappucino thrown at us in a motorcade. Mostly, this stuff never made the press George Bush had a valet with a spare suit and a good attitude.

FFS, Nigel, Carl, Stephen. You got a whole posse of handlers and factotums. Keep a change of clothes handy and man up.

What some fail to understand is that this is not a binary all or nothing, black or white thing. There's a whole lot of grey area in a spectrum between completely innocuous funny shit and actual physical violence. And a milkshake is towards the former, not the latter.

Addendum. Some have taken umbrage at my use of the phrase "man up". It was a phrase I would have used at the time. Perhaps there's a better expression.

Addendum. One person tells me it's all made up because I used the word "protectee." This is a word and it is the one used by the US Secret Service. Don't bollock me for using the words I used at the time.pic.twitter.com/rmIoQazgR1

Another Addendum: Yes, I really was in the Secret Service. Feel free to launch your own "Dan Kaszeta was never in the Secret Service" truther movement, but you'll only end up looking a fool for it. Even Sputnik knows I was in the USSS.

Addendum: CBRN = chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear.

Also, don’t call me an “agent”. That wasn’t my job title. I was a “senior physical security specialist” and I made more money than most “agents”, not that the compensation system was fair.

Another addendum. Yes. I write for the Integrity Initiative. @InitIntegrity - Any bollocking you might give on that regard has already been received by me and refuted. So don't bother.

Thanks for your insight Dan. Interesting perspective and I agree sometimes an egg is just an egg, @Nigel_Farage should carry an extra suit and man up.

IMHO “man up” is fine, and “woman up” if they happen to be a woman is cool too
