@DanFrakes I guess the stumbling block for me is that neither my coding nor tech support is really possible on an iPad.
@mjtsai I rarely take a laptop on trips anymore if I don't need to do heavy work.

@mjtsai Bingo ;-) Some things just aren't really possible on an iPad. For me, much of my "travel work" is email, RSS, simply writing. - View other replies

@DanFrakes OTOH, if I wanted to type a lot, the 11-inch MacBook Air’s screen shows a lot more, and typing and pointing are more ergonomic. -
@mjtsai depends on your vantage point. For note-taking I find not having a computer screen between me and others makes a big difference. -
@nriley You put the screen flat on the table where you can’t really see it? - View other replies

@mjtsai I use a keyboard on my lap and a Smart Cover to elevate the top/back. -
@nriley I see. Weren’t there some PowerBooks that used to be able to open to that angle, almost flat? -
@mjtsai maybe the 1xxs and/or Duos? Many ThinkPads could (can?) open flat. But even so, the screen ends up too far away. - View other replies
