“A good man who made a bad mistake”. A bad mistake is not beating your wife in front of your children to the point that she needs reconstructive surgery. That is domestic violence. Not a bad mistake.

The only mistake was Fudge writing this letter. A bad mistake. Seriously.
-
Who else sent Letters of Support. This is an Obvious Hit Job At
@RepMarciaFudge but seriously WHO are the other Civil and Civic Leaders that also Signed Letters for the Judge?? The woman who was beaten and needed reconstructive surgery, now DEAD, was NOT mentioned in this letter. -
I'm not sure, only saw the letter from Fudge. The guy was a judge so I'm sure he called in a few favors.

He beat her in 2014, but actually seems like he was trying to kill her then. In 2014 he beat her in front of their children, and then left her, beaten and injured, in the street. Until people (both men & women) start treating domestic violence more seriously nothing will change.
-
If he'd beaten a stranger like that he'd still be in jail.

Who else offered letters like this?

EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN SENATOR THAT SUPPORTED KAVANAUGH. (plus Manchin)
-
I hear you. I meant though specifically in the Lance Mason case

Domestic abuse needs 2 b seen as heinous violent crime that it is +disqualifying for any position of trust- military, courts, public office, etc Our perception needs 2 change- if a man severely beat his wife, he’s a violent criminal+should b treated as such
-
So many mass shooters began as wife abusers. This fact needs to be emphasized, over, and over, and over again.
-
And he had a cache of weapons and ammo when police searched his house in connection with the DV case.
-
If he was never convicted of misdemeanor DV, he did not become prohibited.
-
But this man was. He served time, just not all of it.
-
Many enable abusers. They don’t have the impetus to rehabilitate because it’s simply not a road-block to being successful- it is sad but true Enablers excuse away their violence +prop them uphttps://www.npr.org/2018/11/20/669484376/former-ohio-judge-who-got-9-months-after-assaulting-wife-is-arrested-in-her-kill …

Leaked by Pelosi?
-
No. We're a Cleveland CBS station and our investigative producer went down to the courthouse and pulled Mason's sentencing records.

@NancyPelosi goes for the jugular. How many more of the 17 will she take out for daring to challenge her power?
#NeverNancy -
Nancy Pelosi din't bend Marcia Fudge's arm to write this letter, she did it of her own free will. Now she will have to face the consequences for this total lack of judgement.
-
Never said that she forced Fudge to write, only commented on the fact that it seems odd to have been released before the vote for speaker.
-
It's out because the Judge was just arrested for his ex-wife's murder. Are you saying that somehow Nancy arranged for him to be arrested for the murder, so she could raise this letter in support of him 3 years ago against a political opponent? Isn't that a bit far fetched?
