Just so I’m clear: you think my friends are domestic abusers/criminals? Seriously that’s your argument? That they can’t pass a background check? Wrong. People lend guns to friends, esp if they don’t own a gun, for self-defense and hunting purposes. This is America outside NYC.

You are a member of Congress. Why are you “lending” guns to people unsupervised who can’t pass a basic background check? Exactly. California has universal background checks, & because of that, I can’t lend a gun to any friend or relative except for my parents, and even then it has to be “infrequent” and no more than 30 days. It’s absolutely stupid.

People aren't hunting with handguns. And the common sense legislation that McConnell refuses to hear DOES have exceptions for loaning guns to a person that is in immediate danger. Is day to day travel immediate danger where you live?

Lots of people carry hand guns for protection in the mountains. But nobody hunts animals with assault rifles.

I've grown up in the "wild west"!! My dad had guns in the corner of his office and we were TAUGHT respect of the gun and people. High school students carried their guns on racks in their trucks. We all went hunting but none of us killed each other. Shocking, I know!!

I went to school in the UK, we were just taught to respect people. Secondary school students didn't have guns in their cars, in fact, they didn't have to think or worry about guns at all. We all had fun and there were no mass shootings anywhere in the UK. Shocking, I know!
