Situations like this story are why we protect the 2nd Amendment. Side note: With universal background checks, I wouldn’t be able to let my friends borrow my handgun when they travel alone like this. We would make felons out of people just for defending themselves.https://twitter.com/ABC13Miya/status/1168993652150026244 …

Five men tried to rob a young woman this morning. They didn’t expect her to grab her handgun and fire. Today, she is unharmed, and at least one suspect is shot. The Second Amendment exists only so slave owning exploiters had weapons to suppress the enslaved population. We outlawed slavery, now it's time to outlaw the slave-owner's means of exploitation.

Then the government would have guns and would be the so called slave owners then wouldnt they. Think a little bit. The 2nd amendment is so we can protect ourselves from harm and from a tyrannical government

If you’re friends can’t pass a background check, maybe you shouldn’t be loaning them your gun

Why do they need to borrow your gun? Why can't they purchase one themselves? If they can afford to travel, they can afford a gun. Isn't that what the second amendment fight is for - gun ownership, not gun burrowing?

Um, I dont loan my guns to anyone. If they committed a crime, I could potentially be liable as well. If they feel the need for one, then buy one the right way.

Or we could make it like cars where you can lend it to a friend as long as they have a valid license and insurance.
