Dividing your app into microservices adds a level of complexity that is sometimes not worth it. If a monolithic application is written well and you're getting your goals met, no need to spend the resources splitting your application up.

Not everything needs to be decomposed into microservices. Not everything needs to be jammed into Kubernetes.

Strongly Agree, There is no one answer for every architectural problem. Microservices might be the way to go for a lot of solutions but one should always have a good reason for going in that direction.

Sure. Until you monolithic app grows, needs to scale or replace a single service, part of you data model changes a lot, etc. As said, the right tool for the right job.

A major part of our advantage compared to other similar vendors has been the contiguous data lifecycle in the one central database, using modularised
#orclapex applications behaving as one. Pain points have been (limited) integration points.
