Imo, forgiving someone isn't required to move on from the pain they caused you. I feel people get stuck trying to forgive and it just amplifies the pain. Its totally valid to not forgive, accept that you don't and leave it there. Don't keep trying if it hurts.

Exactly. The only good thing my ex ever gave me was perspective. I hate the narrative that you MUST forgive and stop hating someone that hurt you to truly move on. Also is there a queue for whooping that guy’s butt?
