So I'm painting with oils for the first time in years.... (not since college Urp! Always preferred Gouache) God it's lovely, like a part of my brain I locked away is coming back. Just one whiff of pine turps and I'm in the old studio at Falmouth like it was yesterday ! 
I started up watercolour painting again recently (I used to paint with my grandad when I was a kid) and you're right - something about it just reopens old nice memories
