16 year olds should be able to vote. In the UK, when you turn 16 you can: - Get married with parental consent - Buy a lotto ticket - Have sex - Join the army with parental consent - Work full time But you can't vote? That seems ridiculous to me

Agreed, if you're old enough to legally start a family, you should be allowed to have a say in how the country you're in is run

I remember Charlotte Church complaining she couldn't vote at 16 on Have I Got News for You - Hislop mocked her - and she retorts, but yet the treasury are quite happy to take my 50% tax!

The really weird thing is if you live in Scotland, it's not uniform. 16 year olds were able to vote in the indyref in 2014, the council elections and can vote in the upcoming Scottish Parliament elections, and yet when it comes to Westminster can't vote.
