It's supposedly so people don't get triggered the thing is if a person has the uncensored word muted now she bypassed that restriction and someone who got the word muted now might see that tweet

Why would people mute words though, you miss out on so much if you do that. How can someone have a discussion about anything if something as simple as a word triggers you. Genuine question btw

So words can trigger flashbacks, PTSD, disassociation etc. Blanking them out protects people that might be affected by it.

It does, there’s a difference in seeing GRAB and GR*B It takes longer for the brain to register the second one. And if we can protect people with a simple * why wouldn’t we?
