Rest assured we have both stove top and electric kettles
but there is a major tendency to make tea from the Hot tap or microwave

Lol IIRC, they don't tend to use them, because their 120v power means they take a really long time to boil compared to our 220v ones, so it's quicker on a stove or microwave. I think.

There are kettles, we have one. Most folks here, unless they drink tea, don't really have them as its not something people grow up with here. They heat water in a pan or a microwave, many have stove-top kettles. Posher houses have instant boil taps.
