I'm not sure why this is difficult for some people to grasp. Everyone would pay into the system and get equal care, not get care based on employment or how much you're willing/able to pay.

I’m all for UH for those who need it AS LONG AS I’m not forced to get rid of my private insurance in place of a universal system. I would like to keep my healthcare that’s afforded to me through employers. UH sure for those who need it and opted out for those who have private.

I’m for a healthcare for all who need it as long as they pay into it. I’m not for people receiving free healthcare, something has to be paid and should be tiered by income and plan. I’m not for UH being forced on everyone as stated before as I think people who be able to choose.

Your friends probably have never experienced both sides. I have. My husband is British born, lived in England. Came to the US became a citizen. He chooses ours over theirs as well. He made the same arguments your friends did until he experienced both.

If it weren’t for the NHS, I’d probably be dead. I went to them jobless, critically depressed and with no money and they supported me with the medication I needed. The only reason our healthcare doesn’t work is because our Tory government are trying to destroy it.
