I never said people don’t deserve healthcare I said that it’s a broken system, but people should have to pay for healthcare and that a universal base system is fine a socialist system is not.

Your friends probably have never experienced both sides. I have. My husband is British born, lived in England. Came to the US became a citizen. He chooses ours over theirs as well. He made the same arguments your friends did until he experienced both.
If it weren’t for the NHS, I’d probably be dead. I went to them jobless, critically depressed and with no money and they supported me with the medication I needed. The only reason our healthcare doesn’t work is because our Tory government are trying to destroy it.

Otherwise, it’s worked very well for our poorer citizens that needed it and otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford it. I wouldn’t have been able to afford a £2,000 ambulance. Healthcare should be universal.

It isn’t the NHS, it’s the people trying to destroy the NHS. The rich want their mates to get the taxes, the poor just want their taxes to go towards education and health services.

I do agree that for poorer citizens MOST of the time a UH is beneficial, but when it comes to urgent care I’ve also seen that same system screw their citizens. Every system is broken, there’s no perfect answer. That’s why UH for all who want it and private for those who don’t.
