Some industries don't have a choice unfortunately. If you are in employment in a certain industry you know there are sacrifices to make. For example; when I was a chef November-January every year 100-116 hour weeks 6-7days a week. Its the industry we choose
Mandatory crunch absolutely should still not be normalised. Paid or unpaid, mandatory shouldn't be a thing that exists.

Yeah, I understand (said in my other reply it may have come across a little wrong) But industry mandatory crunch is generally necessary and is recognised when starting a career in that certain industry; whether that be hospitality, development, business, legal etc

When starting my Chef career, I knew the hours required over holidays were mandatory, I still chose to enter that industry. When I started my legal career, same thing. If we as workers didn't want such pressure we wouldn't choose that career
