My first ever games job was in esports. They took me on as a junior community manager role, then expected me to run ads and get them 2000 alpha testers for their app in 3 months When I said it's more senior marketing manager, they told me any CM that says that should be fired
The budget they gave me for an ad campaign was 'Nothing, we're a start-up and we need to save money where we can' and decided to not renew my contract, then advertised for a marketing manager at half the normal wage for a senior No idea if they're still kicking

They shaved so much off their budgets, I wasn't surprised that I didn't stick around. I wrote them a content strategy, set up their Twitter and then my contract ended 2 weeks before Christmas!
